• Copyediting and Proofreading

Copyediting: I focus on technical details of the written word such as grammar, spelling, syntax, word usage, and punctuation. I will also make an editorial style sheet of important details, unique terms and spellings, and general style guidelines.

Proofreading: I review the final version of a written piece and will comb through it for any missed corrections. I will identify typos, incorrect punctuation, formatting issues, etc., querying each potential problem while I thoroughly review and fact-check all content.

    TECHNICAL:
-For copyediting and proofreading, I use the Chicago Manual of Style but can follow custom style guides. I also have familiarity with AP Style.

-I am proficient in Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InCopy, and using track changes in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

  • Localization Editing

I have reviewed English translations from Spanish, Japanese, German, French, and Korean due to my international work experience. For every language, I go through each paragraph line by line and will review the text thoroughly for accuracy, tone, and clarity. I will make suggestions for native English and cultural references in the appropriate places, and I will offer suggestions for improving the overall sentence. I look closely at word choices, phrasing, and the flow of the text; anything that may have gotten lost in translation.

On the other side, I have also reviewed English texts to be given to non-native English speakers. I will check to make sure the English is clear but also that there are no phrases or wordplays that may confuse a non-native EN speaker outside of the USA.

  • Art Production Management

I have a well-trained eye for spotting inconsistencies in art due to many years of doing quality checks for designs, storyboards, and animation. Whether a character is in the wrong costume, there’s an inconsistency between story panels, or if there are a few pixels that are the wrong hex code—I see it all!

I can thoroughly and comfortably review and track art in any phase (from concepts, inks, color, to final cleans and cross department collaborations between scripts, designs, boards, and animation) and keep all layers/file names organized. I am also well-versed in communication with (and the management of) artists, producers, directors, external vendors, and clients.

    TECHNICAL:
-I am proficient in Clip Studio Paint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Toon Boom Storyboard Pro.

-I have managed projects in a variety of software such as Shotgrid, AirTable, Asana, Basecamp, and Ftrack. I’m flexible and can adapt to the pipeline of any team I work with.
